Men's Varsity Soccer
Last year’s men’s varsity team had an amazing year. They claimed the region championship and made it to the state playoffs. Sixteen seniors graduated from the team last year, leaving only four players to return to the team this year. That means the team will be almost completely new to varsity soccer. Coach Jimbo Jarvis saw this disadvantage and took early action. The team started conditioning earlier than ever this year, running and lifting weights every Monday and Wednesday since October. Tryouts will be held in early January and will last a week. Boys from grades 9-12 are encouraged to try out. While there are only limited spots on varsity, there is also a junior varsity team coached by Justin Nelms. Junior Varsity is a feeder program also meant for boy’s grades 9-12. It prepares boys to play varsity.
