Academic Decathlon State
Competition at Berkmar
High School on February27-28.
Team members are seniors Brianna Stone, Sean Passmore, Heather Globerman, Brooklyn Sheets, Daylen Brock and Henry Hagin; sophomores Dakoda Flowers, Jackson Autrey and Scott Passmore. The coach is Ms. Nicole Jackson. Students competed in ten topics such as literature, economics, art, math, and music and questions focused on this year's topic "New Alternatives in Energy: Ingenuity and Innovation."
Our team placed 8th out of 21 teams and won ten individual medals. Among those winning medals were Brianna Stone won 5 medals: Bronze for Scholastic Language and Literature, Bronze for Scholastic Mathematics, Gold for Scholastic Economics, Bronze for Scholastic Arts, and Silver as Top Scholastic Decathlete. Henry Hagin won Silver in Varsity Mathematics and Gold in Varsity Economics. Heather Globerman won Silver in Honors Speech and Gold in Honors Interview. Brooklyn Sheets won Silver in Scholastic Economics. (As featured in the March Packer Press Newsletter)
