CCHS Drill Team Competes at Titletown Competition in Lowndes
CCHS MCJROTC Drill Team Cadets competed in the Titletown Competition. Although it was an Air Force competition, Colquitt still placed in several drill categories.
Among those placements was 3rd in Armed Regulation, 3rd in Unarmed Regulation, 1st in Inspection, and 2nd in Armed Exhibition. Delilah Wood was named as the Most Impressive Armed Regulation Commander and placed 2nd in the Individual Drill Movements challenge; Chloe Smith, Tyler Boyd, Dorian Bromberger, and Aaron Johnson also competed in the Individual Drill Movements challenge.

u.s. marine corps 239th birthday

On November 10, 1775, the Second Contiental Congress established the creation of the United States Marine Corps in Tun Tavern, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In honor of this day, the CCHS MCJROTC unit organized and partook in the Marine Corps celebration in honor of its 239th birthday.
LE3, Seth W., read the two birthday messages written by the 13th Commandant of the Marine Corps, John Lejeune, and the surrent Commandant, James Amos. LE4s, Samantha S. and Andrea G., helps serve the cake along with the Willie J. Williams middle school cafeteria crew. The senior military instructor of the CCHS MCJROTC unit talked to his cadets about current issues and the importance of the date. LE4s, James R., Nicholas T., Tyson M., and David P., take charge of the color guard. The youngest MCJROTC cadet, Cody K., and the oldest cadet, David P., receive the first slices of cake. |
Lowndes county annual drill meet
On September 27, 2014, CCHS MCJROTC Drill Team cadets competed in the Lowndes County Annual Drill Meet. Since this was their first competition for 2014, the pressure was on, but their dedication and focus brought them hard earned results.
With 2nd in Unarmed Regulation, 3rd in Armed Regulation, 1st in Armed Exhibition, and 1st in Inspection, all the practice paid off for these determined cadets.

moody air force base

On September 11, 2014, MCJROTC Senior and selected Junior cadets visited Moody Air Force Base in Lowndes and Lanier County. From special service dogs, airplanes and helicopters, the flight line, J and P Model planes, firefighters, and the equipment maintenance unit, these cadets received a full day of learning what choosing a the path with the Air Force can lead to.
